In the 1990s, Yves was a member of the Swiss Junior and Young Rider National Show Jumping Team, participating in numerous international shows as well as six Swiss Championships. In 1993, he competed for Switzerland in a Nations Cup at the CSIO Kiskunhalas (HUN) at the elite level.
As an amateur jockey (1993–2003), Yves won a Swiss Championship (2003) as well as a FEGENTRI World Championship title. Overall, he recorded 49 victories in approximately 650 races as a jockey (15 in steeplechase races, 34 in flat races), including notable successes such as:
Yves began his career as a skikjoering driver in 1999 on the frozen lake of St. Moritz. To date, he has achieved two victories and numerous placements, and in 2005, together with his horse Abu Ardash, he won the overall standings, earning the title “King of the Engadine.”
